Job Description
Electrical Bias Maintenance Engineer
Manufacturing
Monday - Friday (DAYS ONLY)
Leicester
£47,500 per annum
Your New Employer
This is a great opportunity to join a fast-paced manufacturing facility running high-speed, automated production lines. The business places a strong emphasis on safety, reliability and continuous improvement, and offers a genuinely supportive engineering culture where new ideas and challenge are welcomed.
Your New Job
Reporting to the Engineering Supervisor, you'll take ownership of day shift electrical maintenance and engineering activity across the site, covering high-speed production lines, converting equipment and site utilities. Day to day you'll carry out fault diagnosis and repairs on motors, drives, PLCs, sensors and control systems, execute planned preventative maintenance to reduce breakdowns, and respond to and root-cause equipment failures. You'll ensure all electrical work meets legal, regulatory and site safety standards, including LOTO procedures, and keep schematics, documentation and equipment records up to date. You'll also provide hands-on technical support to production teams during shifts and get involved in continuous improvement initiatives, equipment upgrades, and new machinery installations alongside the Engineering Supervisor.
Your Experience and Requirements
ZAP are searching for candidates with an NVQ Level 3 / City & Guilds Level 3 in Electrical Installation or Maintenance (or a time-served electrical engineering apprenticeship), along with 18th/19th Edition Wiring Regulations (BS 7671). You'll need solid experience of electrical maintenance and fault-finding within a manufacturing or industrial environment.
Your Future as a Successful Candidate
This role offers real scope to develop into more senior engineering positions, with exposure to equipment upgrade projects and continuous improvement work that will broaden your technical skillset. For the right candidate looking to build a long-term career in a business that genuinely invests in its engineering team, this is a strong next step.
