The Role • Contribute ideas for advanced CPU performance features and explore them in detail. • Model proposed CPU architectural features and work with design teams on productization. • Collaborate with CPU Performance Architecture and RTL teams to identify product improvements. • Analyze workloads to pinpoint performance bottlenecks and capitalize on opportunities. • Perform self-guided simulation studies of design alternatives for CPUs. • Write and maintain sections of the CPU architectural performance model. What You'll Need • Proficiency in C and C++, along with scripting languages like Perl or Python. • Strong knowledge of CPU architecture, including fetch, decode, branch prediction, execution units, caches, and retirement. • Experience working in a performance modeling environment and with common performance benchmarks. • Ability to problem-solve and validate your own ideas effectively. • Knowledge of OS internals and compiler technology is a plus. • A Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field, with a minimum of 2 years of relevant work experience.
