Job Description
TechNest are partnering with one of Scotland's biggest providers of SPEN Engineers and currently looking for6 experienced Telecom Field Engineers to support a major Scottish Power telecommunications programme across Scotland.
This is a different opportunity to most, for you to join a high-profile project delivering and maintaining critical telecommunications infrastructure within the utilities sector.
You'll be responsible for installing, commissioning, maintaining and supporting telecoms and IP networking equipment (WAN/LAN/MPLS) while working alongside experienced project engineers to deliver high-quality solutions.
Key Responsibilities- Installation and commissioning of telecoms and IP networking equipment.
- 1st line fault finding, maintenance and support.
- Carry out routine maintenance and assurance activities.
- Complete site surveys, testing and risk assessments.
- Produce project documentation and handover packs.
- Support project delivery while ensuring Health & Safety and quality standards are met.
- Participate in out-of-hours support when required.
- Previous experience as a Telecoms AND Network Field Engineer.
- Installation and commissioning of telecoms infrastructure including DC/AC power.
- Strong IP networking knowledge (LAN, WAN & MPLS).
- Experience with Cisco and/or Alcatel networking equipment.
- Experience with PDH, SDH, Microwave Radio or Fibre Networks.
- Telecoms cabling, termination and testing experience.
- Excellent fault-finding and troubleshooting skills.
- Full UK Driving Licence.
- Scottish Power Authorisations.
- National Grid Authorisation.
- IOSH.
- EUSR.
- Emergency First Aid at Work.
- NRSWA.
- Experience working in HV Substations (11kV400kV).
- £200-£225 per day (Outside IR35).
- Immediate start.
- 6-month contract with extension potential.
- Work on critical national infrastructure projects.
