Solution Architect

Location: Leeds or Halifax (Hybrid - 2 days per week in the office)

Contract: 12 Months
Rate: 550 a day

We're looking for an experienced Solution Architect to join a major transformation programme within the financial services sector. This is an exciting opportunity to design and deliver innovative technology solutions across a modern People Platform, working with cloud technologies, AI capabilities and enterprise SaaS applications.

You'll collaborate with architects, engineers, product teams and business stakeholders to create scalable, secure and resilient solutions that support business outcomes and enhance colleague experience.

What you'll be doing

• Design end-to-end solution architectures for enterprise applications and platforms.
• Produce high-quality architecture documentation, solution designs and integration specifications.
• Ensure solutions meet security, resilience, scalability and governance standards.
• Work closely with Product Owners, Engineers and Enterprise Architects to deliver business value.
• Evaluate and introduce innovative technologies, including AI-driven capabilities where appropriate.
• Identify technical risks, dependencies and mitigation strategies.
• Collaborate with internal teams and third-party suppliers to ensure successful solution delivery.

What we're looking forEssential Skills

• Proven experience as a Solution Architect within large enterprise environments.
• Strong understanding of solution design, systems integration and enterprise architecture principles.
• Experience with cloud platforms, particularly Azure and Google Cloud Platform (GCP).
• Ability to communicate complex technical solutions to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
• Experience using Jira and Confluence in Agile delivery environments.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with experience managing technical risks.
• Knowledge of AI technologies and their application within enterprise solutions.

Desirable Skills

• Experience with Workday, particularly Workday Extend or HR technology platforms.
• Experience within Financial Services or other regulated industries.
• Knowledge of REST APIs, event-driven architecture and enterprise integration patterns.
• Familiarity with TOGAF or other enterprise architecture frameworks.
• Understanding of DevSecOps, CI/CD and Infrastructure as Code.
