Location: Edinburgh (Hybrid) - up to three days in the office
Salary: Up to £75,000 + Benefits
Head Resourcing are partnering with an Edinburgh-founded business to recruit a Data Manager/Azure Fabric specialist to play a pivotal role in the organisation's data transformation journey.
This is an opportunity to bridge the gap between business strategy and modern data platforms, helping to design, build and govern enterprise-wide analytical solutions that support regulatory reporting, risk management, customer insight, operational efficiency and strategic decision-making.
Working closely with stakeholders across the business, you'll help establish data as a strategic asset while delivering scalable, compliant and high-quality data products using the Microsoft technology stack.
Key Responsibilities
- Engage with business stakeholders to understand and document data and reporting requirements.
- Translate business needs into analytical data products, automation initiatives and reporting solutions.
- Design and develop Lakehouse and Data Warehouse solutions using Microsoft Fabric.
- Build and optimise end-to-end data pipelines and ingestion frameworks.
- Deliver robust MI, dashboarding and reporting solutions within Power BI.
- Drive data governance initiatives including data lineage, quality, traceability and metadata management.
- Develop and maintain data models, business glossaries, process documentation and data dictionaries.
- Support regulatory reporting, risk analytics, customer insight and operational reporting initiatives.
- Identify opportunities for automation and improved business decision-making through data.
- Promote data literacy and champion best practice across the organisation.
- Collaborate with project, technology and change teams to support successful delivery of strategic initiatives.
Essential Skills & Experience

- Significant experience designing and delivering modern data platforms and data architecture solutions.
- Strong experience with the Microsoft Fabric ecosystem.
- Expertise in:
- SQL
- Power BI
- Azure Data Services
- Data Warehousing
- Lakehouse architecture
- ETL / ELT development
Strong understanding of:
- Data governance
- Data quality management
- Data lineage
- Metadata management
- Data security principles
- Proven ability to engage with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Experience gathering requirements and translating these into practical data solutions.
- Strong documentation and process mapping skills.
- Experience delivering data-driven solutions in complex business environments.
