Small Boat Engineering Technician Instructor | El Cajon, CA, United States | On-site | $28.44 - $35.01/hr

We are seeking a skilled instructor for a leading organization supporting critical naval training operations. This role is essential in ensuring the readiness of personnel operating and maintaining vital small craft and their complex systems. The Role

  • Conduct classroom instruction and hands-on laboratory training for small boat engineering systems.
  • Perform preventive and corrective maintenance on Navy small watercraft and associated support equipment.
  • Operate propulsion systems and manage casualties, both in-port and underway.
  • Execute pre-start and post-operation checks to ensure system integrity.
  • Maintain cleanliness and operational readiness of assigned work areas and craft.
  • Adhere to stringent safety and ethical standards in all training and maintenance activities.

What You'll Need

  • Six years of experience as a Navy Engineman, Construction Mechanic, Electrician's Mate, or equivalent civilian experience.
  • Proficiency in marine propulsion, electrical, auxiliary, and control systems.
  • Ability to perform classroom instruction, underway training, and maintenance.
  • Qualification as a Navy Second Class Swimmer or equivalent.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain facility credentials (US Citizenship required).
  • Willingness to work alternate schedules and occasional overtime as needed.
