Small Boat Engineering Technician Instructor | El Cajon, CA, United States | On-site | $28.44 - $35.01/hr
We are seeking a skilled instructor for a leading organization supporting critical naval training operations. This role is essential in ensuring the readiness of personnel operating and maintaining vital small craft and their complex systems. The Role
- Conduct classroom instruction and hands-on laboratory training for small boat engineering systems.
- Perform preventive and corrective maintenance on Navy small watercraft and associated support equipment.
- Operate propulsion systems and manage casualties, both in-port and underway.
- Execute pre-start and post-operation checks to ensure system integrity.
- Maintain cleanliness and operational readiness of assigned work areas and craft.
- Adhere to stringent safety and ethical standards in all training and maintenance activities.
What You'll Need
- Six years of experience as a Navy Engineman, Construction Mechanic, Electrician's Mate, or equivalent civilian experience.
- Proficiency in marine propulsion, electrical, auxiliary, and control systems.
- Ability to perform classroom instruction, underway training, and maintenance.
- Qualification as a Navy Second Class Swimmer or equivalent.
- Ability to obtain and maintain facility credentials (US Citizenship required).
- Willingness to work alternate schedules and occasional overtime as needed.
