Field Service Engineer<br />Salary: £37,500 - £42,000<br />Hours: 45 hours per week, 9.5 hour days with 30 minute unpaid lunch<br />Ideal base locations: Chertsey, Egham, Staines,Twickenham, Weybridge, Sunbury with trips into London 2 times a week<br />Overtime: Paid, enhanced weekend rates<br />Holiday: 25 days plus bank holidays, 31 days total<br />Vehicle: Company car, Skoda Superb Estate or Transit Connect van<br />A well established specialist engineering business operating within the healthcare sector is recruiting a Field Service Engineer.<br />The company installs, services, calibrates and validates medical washer disinfectors within hospitals and clinical environments. Engineers are trained to work on Class 1 medical devices and supported with structured internal and external training programmes.<br />These are long term career roles with full technical training provided.<br />Due to site locations, occasional overnight stays will be required.<br />The Role<br />You will be responsible for the service, repair, calibration and validation of medical washer disinfectors and drying and storage systems within healthcare settings.<br />Key responsibilities include:
- Service, repair and modification of medical reprocessing equipment
- Calibration, validation and periodic testing
- Electrical fault finding and mechanical maintenance
- Creation of on site validation and laboratory reports
- Implementation of company quality procedures
- Ownership of site based technical issues
- Training and support for end users
- Coaching and first line support for new engineers
- Servicing of selected third party products within the portfolio<br />This is a field based, customer facing engineering role requiring professionalism, accuracy and strong documentation discipline.<br />What We Are Looking For
- Minimum Level 3 qualification in Electrical or Mechanical discipline, ideally both
- Time served apprenticeship highly desirable
- Strong electrical fault finding ability
- Mechanical aptitude, including small pumps and seals
- Logical problem solving skills
- Full UK driving licence<br />Engineers from outside the medical device industry are encouraged to apply. Successful candidates will receive comprehensive training and mentoring.<br />Ex military engineers are particularly well suited to this environment.<br />Package
- Starting salary £37,500 - £42,000 DOE for the right candidate
- Overtime paid at enhanced rates
- Saturday paid at time and a half
- Sunday paid at double time
- Overtime above 45 hours paid at enhanced rates
- Company vehicle provided
- 25 days holiday plus bank holidays
