Database Developer

Location: Charlotte, North Carolina (Hybrid)

Duration: 12 months CTH

Role Overview

This role involves the design, development, and review of database changes within the organization. As a Database Engineer, the successful candidate will apply industry-accepted design and development practices to perform all database-related changes, including database design, normalization, and SQL/PL-SQL programming, using an Agile methodology. This is a potential contract-to-hire opportunity for candidates who do not require sponsorship now or in the future.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and review database modifications.
• Apply industry best practices for database design and normalization.
• Program in SQL and PL/SQL within an Agile framework.
• Perform performance tuning, including query optimization and indexing strategies.
• Utilize tools such as AWR, ASH, and Explain Plan for database analysis.
• Collaborate with teams to ensure robust and efficient database architecture.

Required Qualifications

Technical Skills:

• Expert-level proficiency in the latest Oracle Database version.
• Strong experience in SQL and PL/SQL programming.
• Proficiency in TOAD and similar database tools.
• Experience with Oracle Enterprise Manager (OEM).
• Proven experience in Database Design and Data Modeling (ER Diagram and Normalization).
• Strong understanding of Oracle architecture, memory structure, and background processes.
• Hands-on experience in performance tuning, including query optimization and indexing strategies using tools like AWR, ASH, and Explain Plan.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent communication and leadership capabilities.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience in the financial domain.
• Knowledge of shell scripting or Python for automating database tasks.
• Familiarity with DevOps practices and tools such as Jenkins, GIT, and Datical.
• Exposure to MS SQL Server and MongoDB.
• Knowledge of data security, encryption, and compliance standards.
