Project Engineer - Electrical & Instrumentation

Location: Scottish Borders, Cumbria & West Yorkshire

We are looking for an experienced Project Engineer (E&I) with a background in gas distribution, utilities, or major infrastructure projects to support the delivery of electrical and instrumentation projects from concept through to commissioning and handover.

Essential Skills & Experience

• COMPEX Ex01-04 certification.
• Time-served Electrician or Electrical Technician.
• EL6 authorised, Authorised Person (AP), or equivalent electrical authorisation.
• Experience delivering projects through the full lifecycle, including design, construction, commissioning, and handover.
• Strong background in gas infrastructure, utilities, or other safety-critical environments.
• Knowledge of hazardous area installations (ATEX/DSEAR), permit-to-work systems, and electrical safety procedures.
• Experience with LV/HV electrical systems, switchgear, PLCs, SCADA, instrumentation, and control systems.
• Ability to manage contractors, review technical documentation, and ensure compliance with CDM and health & safety regulations.
