Senior DevOps Engineer

An established enterprise SaaS organization is hiring a Senior DevOps Engineer into its Cloud Operations team. You'll own AWS infrastructure, drive automation with Terraform, and improve the reliability, security and performance of business-critical production systems. The role suits an engineer who enjoys solving complex infrastructure problems and taking technical projects from investigation through to implementation.

The Role

You'll work alongside software engineering and infrastructure teams to build scalable cloud environments, streamline deployments and introduce modern DevOps practices across business-critical SaaS applications.

·       Lead automation initiatives that reduce manual operational work.

·       Improve the reliability, security and performance of customer-facing systems.

·       Support cloud infrastructure modernization at scale.

What You'll Be Doing

·       Design, build and maintain scalable, secure and highly available AWS cloud infrastructure.

·       Develop and manage Infrastructure as Code using Terraform to automate provisioning and configuration.

·       Deploy, manage and optimize containerized applications using Kubernetes (EKS), ECS and Docker.

·       Build, maintain and improve CI/CD pipelines using tools such as GitHub Actions, Jenkins and ArgoCD.

·       Automate provisioning, patch management, configuration management and operational processes.

·       Implement monitoring, logging and observability solutions using CloudWatch, Prometheus and Grafana.

·       Troubleshoot complex infrastructure issues, investigate production incidents and perform root cause analysis.

·       Improve cloud security, performance, reliability and cost efficiency.

·       Collaborate with software engineering teams to improve deployment processes and application performance.

·       Support cloud infrastructure modernization and migration initiatives.

·       Contribute to technical architecture discussions and infrastructure best practices.

·       Support production environments and participate in an on-call rotation where required.

·       Mentor junior engineers and help develop engineering standards and processes.

What We're Looking For

An engineer who combines strong technical depth with a proactive approach to automation, reliability and continuous improvement, and who is comfortable owning infrastructure challenges end to end. Hands-on ownership of AWS, Kubernetes and Terraform-based automation is the priority.

·       7+ years in DevOps Engineering, Platform Engineering, Cloud Infrastructure or Site Reliability Engineering.

·       Strong hands-on AWS experience in production environments.

·       Proven expertise with Terraform for Infrastructure as Code and cloud automation.

·       Experience deploying, operating and troubleshooting Kubernetes, ideally Amazon EKS.

·       Strong experience with containerization technologies including Docker.

·       Experience designing and maintaining CI/CD pipelines.

·       Strong Linux administration and troubleshooting skills.

·       Experience with AWS services including EC2, VPC, IAM, Route 53, CloudWatch and S3.

·       Proficiency in scripting and automation using Python, Bash or PowerShell.

·       Experience with monitoring and observability tools such as Prometheus, Grafana or CloudWatch.

·       Strong understanding of cloud networking, security, high availability and disaster recovery.

·       Experience supporting business-critical, customer-facing production applications.

·       Strong troubleshooting, communication and problem-solving skills.

Nice to Have

·       Configuration management tools such as Ansible.

·       Exposure to GitOps practices and ArgoCD.

·       AWS ECS, Lambda and serverless technologies.

·       Familiarity with Java applications and development environments.

·       Modernizing legacy infrastructure or migrating applications to cloud-native environments.

·       Cloud cost optimization and infrastructure performance tuning.

·       Experience within enterprise SaaS environments.

·       Mentoring engineers or contributing to technical architecture decisions.
