Position: Google Workspace Administrator

Location: Washington, DC (On-Site)

Contract: 48+ Months and Extendable

Google Cloud Certified – Professional Cloud Security Engineer (preferred)
Google Cloud Certified – Professional Cloud Architect (preferred)

 

Description:

• Administer and manage the organization''s Google Workspace environment, including Gmail, Drive, Docs, Sheets, Slides, Forms, Meet, Chat, Calendar, and Gemini services.
• Manage user accounts, groups, organizational units (OUs), role-based access controls (RBAC), licensing, and identity lifecycle processes, including onboarding, role changes, and offboarding.
• Configure and enforce Google Workspace security controls, including Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA), Single Sign-On (SSO), password policies, session management, Data Loss Prevention (DLP), and secure sharing policies.
• Monitor the Google Workspace environment for security events, investigate incidents, respond to threats, and implement corrective actions to maintain platform security and availability.
• Ensure compliance with federal cybersecurity standards and organizational policies, including NIST Cybersecurity Framework, NIST SP 800-53, FISMA, and FedRAMP requirements.
• Perform routine system administration, health checks, configuration reviews, feature updates, change management, and platform optimization to ensure reliable service delivery.
• Develop and maintain governance documentation, operational runbooks, security procedures, compliance artifacts, and user lifecycle documentation.
• Evaluate new Google Workspace features and recommend enhancements, automation opportunities, and best practices to improve collaboration, productivity, and user experience.
• Serve as the primary technical point of contact for Google Workspace administration, coordinating with internal stakeholders, IT teams, vendors, and Google support as needed.
• Provide technical guidance, end-user training, and knowledge transfer to administrators and business users while supporting audits, compliance reviews, and Authority to Operate (ATO) activities.

• Strong hands-on experience administering enterprise Google Workspace environments.
• Experience working in large enterprise or Federal/Federal-adjacent IT environments is highly preferred.
• Knowledge of federal cybersecurity frameworks and compliance standards, including NIST CSF, NIST SP 800-53, FISMA, FedRAMP, and Zero Trust principles.
• Expertise with Google Admin Console, Gmail, Drive, Docs, Sheets, Slides, Forms, Meet, Chat, Calendar, and Google Gemini administration.
• Strong knowledge of Google Workspace identity and access management, including user provisioning, groups, organizational units, RBAC, and licensing.
• Experience implementing enterprise security controls, including MFA, SSO, identity federation, DLP, secure sharing, password policies, and device trust.
• Experience supporting security monitoring, incident response, compliance audits, risk assessments, and Authority to Operate (ATO) activities.
• Strong understanding of Google Workspace governance, change management, documentation, and operational best practices.
• Excellent analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills with the ability to resolve complex Google Workspace issues.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to collaborate effectively with technical teams, business users, leadership, vendors, and external partners.
