RESPONSIBILITIES:
Kforce has a client that is seeking a DOCSIS & Fiber Engineer III onsite in Parker, CO.
Summary:
We are seeking an experienced DOCSIS Network Engineer to join a technical team supporting critical DOCSIS 4.0 and Fiber initiatives. This is a hands-on Level 3 engineering role for someone who can troubleshoot complex network and CPE issues, evaluate technical problems beyond automated test results, and work effectively across engineering and operational teams. The candidate will have strong experience with DOCSIS, DPoE, network architecture, protocols, and network topology, along with a strong troubleshooting mindset and the ability to identify root causes and drive issues through resolution.
This role is well suited for an experienced engineer who can hit the ground running, work independently, and contribute in a fast-paced environment where technical decisions can directly impact network performance and the customer experience.
Key Responsibilities:
- Support engineering initiatives related to DOCSIS 4.0 and Fiber technologies
- Analyze, troubleshoot, and resolve complex network and CPE issues
- Evaluate network performance, capacity, and architecture to identify potential gaps or areas for improvement
- Design, document, and maintain network architecture and topology
- Work with DOCSIS, DPoE, network protocols, and related technologies
- Perform testing, validation, and troubleshooting of network hardware, software, and configurations
- Investigate issues beyond automated test results to determine the true root cause
- Analyze hardware, software, configuration, and protocol-related issues
- Develop and implement solutions that minimize customer and operational impact
- Work with cross-functional teams to investigate escalated technical issues and drive them to resolution
REQUIREMENTS:
- 5-10+ years of network engineering experience
- Hands-on experience with DOCSIS technologies
- Experience with DPoE systems
- Strong understanding of network architecture and network topology
- Strong knowledge of network protocols and networking fundamentals
- Experience troubleshooting complex network issues across hardware, software, and configurations
- Strong testing and validation experience
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Ability to work independently and make sound technical decisions
- Strong time-management and prioritization skills
- Ability to effectively troubleshoot without relying solely on scripted processes or automated tools
- Strong communication and collaboration skills
- Ability to work effectively in a team environment and navigate technical disagreements or competing priorities
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with Fiber networks and technologies
- Experience supporting DOCSIS 4.0 initiatives
- Experience working with CPE/network engineering environments
- Experience with network labs and hands-on technical testing
- Experience with routers, switches, and network hardware/software
- Experience with network performance and capacity assessments
- Experience identifying and resolving issues in legacy and evolving network environments
- Experience in a large-scale telecommunications or service-provider environment
The pay range is the lowest to highest compensation we reasonably in good faith believe we would pay at posting for this role. We may ultimately pay more or less than this range. Employee pay is based on factors like relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, seniority, location, performance, union contract and business needs. This range may be modified in the future.
We offer comprehensive benefits including medical/dental/vision insurance, HSA, FSA, 401(k), and life, disability & ADD insurance to eligible employees. Salaried personnel receive paid time off. Hourly employees are not eligible for paid time off unless required by law. Hourly employees on a Service Contract Act project are eligible for paid sick leave.
