Job Summary

The Senior Solution Engineer – Power Platform will lead the technical discovery, architecture, design, development, and delivery of scalable enterprise solutions for an investment banking environment. This role requires strong hands-on expertise in Microsoft Power Platform, including Power Apps, Power Automate, Power BI, Dataverse, Power Pages, Copilot Studio, and Power Platform governance/ALM, combined with broader solution engineering and application architecture experience.

The Senior Solution Engineer will partner with business stakeholders, product teams, engineering, security, infrastructure, and data teams to translate complex business requirements into secure, scalable, and maintainable solutions. The ideal candidate will have experience delivering enterprise-grade applications in financial services, investment banking, or other highly regulated environments.

Key Responsibilities

Power Platform Solution Engineering & Architecture

• Lead technical discovery sessions to understand business objectives, workflows, functional requirements, data requirements, security considerations, and technical constraints.
• Architect and develop enterprise solutions using Power Apps (Canvas and Model-Driven Apps), Power Automate, Power BI, Dataverse, Power Pages, and Copilot Studio.
• Provide hands-on technical leadership across the full Power Platform solution lifecycle, from requirements and architecture through development, deployment, and production support.
• Develop complex business applications using Power Fx, reusable components, custom connectors, APIs, and integration patterns.
• Design and implement Power Automate cloud flows for complex workflow automation, approvals, notifications, data processing, and system integrations.
• Design scalable Dataverse data models, security roles, business rules, and application-level security.
• Integrate Power Platform solutions with Microsoft 365, SharePoint Online, Teams, Azure services, SQL databases, REST APIs, and enterprise applications.
• Evaluate requirements and determine when to use low-code Power Platform capabilities versus custom development or enterprise integration services.
• Build proofs of concept, solution demonstrations, and technical presentations to validate architecture and proposed solutions.

Power Platform Governance, Security & ALM

• Establish and follow enterprise Power Platform governance, security, development, and deployment standards.
• Implement ALM using Solutions, managed/unmanaged solutions, environment variables, connection references, and deployment pipelines.
• Support CI/CD and automated deployments using Azure DevOps and/or GitHub.
• Define appropriate Dev, Test/UAT, and Production environment strategies.
• Apply Data Loss Prevention (DLP) policies, role-based security, least-privilege access, connector governance, and secure application design principles.
• Ensure Power Platform solutions comply with organizational security, audit, risk, data privacy, and regulatory requirements.
• Support Power Platform Center of Excellence (CoE) and governance initiatives where applicable.

Power BI & Data Solutions

• Design and develop enterprise dashboards and analytical solutions using Power BI Desktop and Power BI Service.
• Develop complex DAX calculations, Power Query transformations, semantic/data models, and Row-Level Security (RLS).
• Integrate data from SQL, Dataverse, SharePoint, APIs, cloud services, and enterprise data sources.
• Optimize Power BI datasets, reports, refresh processes, and performance for enterprise-scale usage.

Solution Engineering, Testing & Implementation

• Translate business needs into scalable, secure, and maintainable end-to-end solution architectures.
• Lead functional, integration, regression, and user acceptance testing activities.
• Analyze application defects, workflow failures, integration issues, and performance problems to identify root causes and implement effective solutions.
• Partner with infrastructure, security, data, and operations teams on deployment, monitoring, business continuity, and disaster recovery requirements.
• Provide post-production support and drive continuous improvement of deployed applications.
• Develop and maintain technical architecture, solution design, testing, deployment, support, and operational documentation.

Collaboration & Technical Leadership

• Work closely with investment banking stakeholders, product managers, business analysts, developers, architects, infrastructure teams, cybersecurity teams, and data teams.
• Communicate solution architecture, technical decisions, project status, risks, dependencies, and recommendations to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
• Mentor developers and junior engineers on Power Platform architecture, development standards, security, governance, and best practices.
• Conduct solution and code reviews and ensure adherence to enterprise engineering standards.
• Identify opportunities to automate manual business processes and modernize legacy applications using Power Platform and Microsoft technologies.
• Contribute to RFP responses, technical proposals, architecture documentation, implementation plans, and technology evaluations.

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Technology, or a related field.
• 10+ years of overall experience in solution engineering, software development, application architecture, or related technology roles.
• Strong hands-on experience with Microsoft Power Platform in enterprise environments.
• Advanced experience with Power Apps – Canvas and Model-Driven Apps.
• Advanced experience with Power Automate, including complex cloud flows, approvals, integrations, error handling, and reusable automation patterns.
• Strong knowledge of Dataverse, Power Fx, Solutions, Environment Variables, Connection References, custom connectors, and Power Platform ALM.
• Experience with Power BI, DAX, Power Query, data modeling, and Row-Level Security.
• Experience integrating Power Platform with SharePoint Online, Microsoft 365, Teams, SQL, Azure, REST APIs, and enterprise systems.
• Strong understanding of Power Platform security, DLP policies, environment strategy, governance, auditing, and access controls.
• Experience implementing CI/CD and deployment processes using Azure DevOps, GitHub, or Power Platform pipelines.
• Strong understanding of APIs, integrations, enterprise application architecture, cloud platforms, and distributed systems.
• Excellent problem-solving, stakeholder management, communication, and technical leadership skills.
• Demonstrated ability to mentor engineers and influence enterprise technical decisions.

Preferred Qualifications

Experience in investment banking, capital markets, asset management, or financial services is highly preferred, along with experience delivering applications in regulated environments with strict security, compliance, audit, data-governance, and access-control requirements. Microsoft certifications such as PL-400, PL-600, PL-200, PL-300, or relevant Azure certifications are preferred. Experience with Copilot Studio, AI Builder, Azure OpenAI/Azure AI services, Microsoft Graph, and Power Platform CoE would be an additional advantage.
