About the Position

Join the Australian National University (ANU) and play a pivotal role in shaping the digital services that support world-class research. As the Manager, Digital Research Applications (SM1), you will lead the delivery, enhancement and continuous improvement of a portfolio of research-focused digital platforms and services that enable researchers and Higher Degree by Research (HDR) candidates across the University. Working within Digital Research Services, you will collaborate with academic and professional stakeholders to define priorities, manage product roadmaps, oversee agile delivery, and build strong vendor partnerships. This role provides an exciting opportunity to drive innovation, enhance the researcher experience, and ensure ANU remains at the frontiers of technology-enabled research support.

The Area

Information Technology Services (ITS) provides corporate IT services to ANU staff, students and visitors in support of achieving excellence in research, teaching and public policy. These services include network, communications, computing platforms, data storage, desktop and mobile access, enterprise systems, student learning environments, and IT security. The work of ITS is coordinated with services provided within and by University Colleges and other Service Divisions to form a cohesive, University-wide information services infrastructure.

Ideal Candidate

The ideal candidate is an experienced technology leader with a strong background in product, service or application management within complex organisations. They will have demonstrated expertise in digital research services, research applications or enterprise technology platforms, and a proven ability to deliver complex technology initiatives using agile methodologies. The successful candidate will possess outstanding stakeholder engagement, communication and leadership skills, enabling them to build collaborative relationships across academic and professional communities. They will have experience leading high-performing teams, managing organisational change and driving strategic outcomes, with a commitment to delivering innovative, customer-focused digital solutions that support research excellence at ANU.
