Job Description

Title: Manufacturing R&D Engineer (Industrial CNC/Mill)

Location: Campbell, CA

Duration: 6 months temp-to-permanent role

Scope: Our client Is looking for Manufacturing R&D Engineer who is capable of developing innovative solutions to complex problems which will involve research, design, and prototyping work. This engineer would conduct deep research, pursuing complex engineering challenges aid capable of hands-on work from concept from ideation to realization in order to develop custom tooling, fixtures, and machinery on the manufacturing line.

Responsibilities:

  • Define, develop, and implement continuous process improvements to existing manufacturing operations
  • Build products to meet customer demands
  • Prototype and test novel designs and production concepts
  • Design, build, and implement custom tooling and manufacturing equipment and processes
  • Conduct thorough research and maintain detailed records of R&D activities
  • Create standardized methods and procedures to improve manufacturing line efficiency to include internally published work instructions, SOPs, and R&D reports
  • Identify the root causes of manufacturing related issues and perform corrective and preventive action using established problem-solving methods
  • Provide direct manufacturing support to troubleshoot and resolve issues and document solutions following GMP
  • Demonstrate excellent time management skills for on-time delivery of assignments
  • Take ownership of and manage projects as assigned

Required Skills and Knowledge:

  • Bachelor's degree (or equivalent experience) in Engineering related discipline and 3-5 years of related experience or master s degree with 2-3 years of related experience.
  • Proficient with CAD/CAM/FEA software (Fusion 360 preferred)
  • Prototyping, to include tools such as mill/lathe, laser cutter, 3D printer, etc.
  • Proficiency operating CNC equipment (industrial mill preferred)
  • Solid foundational knowledge of GMP
  • Proficient in creating, reviewing, and editing of relevant technical documents
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Meticulous attention to detail
  • Minimum lifting requirement of 20 lbs.

  • Mechatronics: controls, system integration, automation
  • Programming: C++, Python, MATLAB, etc.
  • Microscopy and related lab experience
  • Image analysis
