Backend Java Developer

The Opportunity

StaffRight Associates is recruiting for a high-impact Backend Java Developer on behalf of our premier partner client in Buffalo, NY. This enterprise-level engagement spans 12 to 18 months in a hybrid model (4 days per week on-site) and focuses on building scalable, cloud-native backend infrastructure. In this role, you will champion the delivery of core enterprise services, construct resilient systems, and ensure optimal application performance across cloud ecosystems.

What You’ll Do

• Architect and deliver highly scalable RESTful APIs using Spring Boot to power enterprise systems.

• Engineer and maintain cloud architecture leveraging Azure Functions, Service Integration, and Azure Key Vault.

• Implement robust API security protocols using OAuth 2.0 and modern authorization standards.

• Integrate external APIs and endpoints using Java HTTP client libraries while establishing advanced error handling and diagnostic tracking.

• Construct automated testing frameworks and unit tests to ensure high-quality, durable code.

• Utilize Azure Managed Identities to establish secure service-to-service authentication and access management.

• Monitor and optimize runtime application efficiency using Azure logging frameworks and monitoring platforms.

• Collaborate across technical teams to translate core business requirements into resilient technical solutions.

• Please note: UI and front-end interface development are not applicable for this backend position.

Compensation & Total Rewards

• Compensation range: $70.00 – $75.00 / hour.
