Associate QA Engineer

Location: Meridian, Idaho (Onsite)

Role Overview

This position supports the testing, validation, documentation, and release readiness for retail technology platforms. The role focuses on Microsoft D365 Commerce, Point of Sale (POS) functionality, discounts, coupons, and promotions. This is a developing professional role for an individual who is above entry level and growing toward a mid-level QA Engineer or D365 Commerce technical analyst position. Technical aptitude, curiosity, and team fit are top priorities.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform manual QA testing for discounts, coupons, POS transactions, refunds, gift cards, and promotional offers.
• Work within D365 Commerce, Fujitsu POS/Self Checkout, and Azure DevOps (ADO).
• Create and execute clear, repeatable test plans and test cases for D365 Commerce and related retail systems.
• Identify, document, and track defects with clear reproduction steps and supporting test evidence.
• Support QA projects, lab maintenance, and future automation efforts.
• Validate that discounts and promotions align with marketing requirements, business rules, and pricing structures.
• Support D365 Commerce issue investigation by reproducing problems and documenting findings.
• Communicate testing progress, risks, and release readiness status to team members.

Required Qualifications

Experience:

• 1 to 3 years of experience in QA testing, POS support, application support, technical analysis, or a related IT role.
• A strong manual QA background is required.
• Working knowledge of QA methodologies, test planning, test execution, and defect tracking.

Technical Skills:

• Ability to create clear, concise, and well-structured test cases and defect documentation.
• Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills.
• Strong attention to detail when validating pricing, discounts, and transaction behavior.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.

Preferred Qualifications

• Retail or POS experience is preferred but not required.
• Experience testing POS functionality, discounts, coupons, promotions, or transaction flows.
• Experience with Azure DevOps (ADO), Jira, or similar work tracking tools.
• Familiarity with SQL, PowerShell, or basic data validation concepts.
• Exposure to QA automation tools or scripting.
• Experience with Microsoft D365 Commerce is not required.

Education

An associate degree, bachelor's degree, technical certification, or an equivalent combination of education and relevant work experience in a related field is preferred.
