ROLE SUMMARY

Assistant Manager - S&OP is responsible for supporting and executing the end-to-end Sales & Operations Planning cycle, ensuring effective alignment between demand, supply, and financial plans. The role acts as a central coordinator across cross-functional teams to deliver an optimized, feasible, and data-driven business plan that supports operational efficiency and profitability.


RESPONSIBILITIES


Functional Responsibilities

  • Execute and manage the end-to-end S&OP cycle adhering to the defined timelines
  • Coordinate with Sales, SCM, Manufacturing, Procurement, and Finance teams for plan alignment
  • Consolidate and validate demand forecasts (unconstrained demand) from multiple sources
  • Drive demand vs supply balancing (handshake process) and highlight gaps
  • Identify and manage capacity constraints, supply risks, and mitigation actions
  • Ensure adherence to flex norms, service levels, and inventory targets
  • Support MRP execution and production planning readiness
  • Track and improve key KPIs: Forecast Accuracy, OTIF (On-Time In-Full), Inventory & DOH, Capacity Utilization


  • Conduct scenario planning and what-if analysis for demand fluctuations and supply constraints
  • Prepare and present S&OP review decks, scorecards, and executive summaries
  • Ensure monthly S&OP calendar adherence and timely deliverables
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives in planning processes and governance


Technical Responsibilities

  • Work on advanced planning tools: O9 Solutions/Kinaxis / SAP IBP / Anaplan or equivalent S&OP platforms
  • Should be familiar with O9 Screens and able to perform work independently on O9 planning tool
  • Perform data extraction, validation, and cleansing for planning accuracy
  • Apply statistical techniques: Forecasting models, Trend & variance analysis, Demand pattern identification
  • Ensure data integration and consistency between: O9 Planning tool, ERP systems (SAP)
  • Provide analytical insights using data modelling and visualization techniques


Prerequires

  • In-depth knowledge of Planning Tool: O9 Solutions/Kinaxis / SAP IBP / Anaplan or equivalent S&OP platforms
  • Experience in manufacturing / automotive / discrete industry preferred
  • Inventory management principles (DOH, safety stock, obsolescence)
  • Flex norms, constraints management, and scenario planning
  • Statistical concepts (forecasting methods, trend analysis, variance analysis)
  • Financial planning integration (Revenue, Margin, Profitability) in S&OP


IT Skills

  • Planning tools: o9 Solutions / SAP IBP / APO / Anaplan or equivalent
  • Knowledge of SAP/S4 HANA
  • Microsoft Excel (Power Point, Pivot, formulas, Power Query, simulation models)
  • Power BI / Tableau (dashboards & reporting)
  • Hands on experience in ERP/SAP systems.
  • Good presentation skills.


Role Specific Qualification / Certification Requirement

Bachelor's degree in engineering / supply chain / Operations / Industrial Engineering

Master's degree (MBA - Operations / Supply Chain) preferred


Role Specific knowledge, Skills and Experience

5-10 years of experience in:

S&OP / Demand Planning / Supply Planning / Production Planning

Supply Chain Analytics

Experience in manufacturing / automotive / discrete industry preferred

Optional/Suitable: Exposure to cross-functional supply chain processes (Sales, Procurement, Manufacturing, Finance)
