Location: San Jose, CA (5900 Optical Ct)
Duration: 6 Months
Schedule: Monday–Friday, 9:00 AM–5:00 PM
Work Type: 100% Onsite (No remote or hybrid)
 
Job Summary
We are seeking a Senior Embedded Software Test Engineer to develop and execute test plans for embedded software, firmware, and hardware-integrated products. This is primarily a software testing role with some firmware and hardware validation. You''ll work closely with engineering and quality teams to ensure product quality through manual and automated testing.
Responsibilities

  • Create and execute test plans, test cases, and test protocols.
  • Perform manual and automated testing of embedded systems.
  • Validate software, firmware, and hardware functionality.
  • Troubleshoot defects, perform root cause analysis, and verify fixes.
  • Document test results and prepare detailed test reports.
  • Collaborate with engineering and quality teams to improve product quality.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor''s degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field (preferred).
  • 2–5 years of experience creating test plans, test cases, and test protocols.
  • 2+ years of embedded software testing (manual and automated).
  • Experience troubleshooting issues and performing root cause analysis.
  • Basic understanding of firmware and hardware testing.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience using command-line tools.
  • Working knowledge of C++ or C#.
  • Medical device/FDA experience.
  • Familiarity with 510(k) regulatory submissions.

Additional Information

  • Individual contributor role with minimal supervision.
  • Standard 40-hour workweek.
  • Team size: 7 engineers.
