Opportunity snapshot- Permanent role

The Digital Product Manager is responsible for maximising the value of the product by effectively managing the product backlog and leading the delivery process within the squad. This role involves close collaboration with stakeholders, including the Business Owner, to ensure that the product vision and strategy are clearly defined and communicated. The Digital Product Manager is accountable for the squad's performance, including key performance indicators (KPIs) and profit and loss (P&L), and ensures that the squad is adequately resourced, and risks are managed.

The Digital Product Manager plays a critical role in bridging the gap between business goals and technical execution, ensuring that the product delivers maximum value to both the organisation and its customers.

Responsibilities
  • Maintaining and delivering the product backlog, ensuring it is well-organised and prioritised in alignment with the product strategy.
  • Leading the delivery process from discovery and design to build and release, ensuring timely and high-quality delivery of product increments

  • Coordinating squad resourcing with Crafts to ensure the squad has the necessary skills and capacity to meet delivery goals.

  • Managing delivery risks and dependencies to ensure smooth project execution and mitigate potential issues.

  • Being accountable for the squad's delivery performance, including tracking and reporting on KPIs and P&L.

  • Engaging with stakeholders to gather feedback and ensure that the product meets customer needs and business objectives.

  • Building a squad-level detailed roadmap for the upcoming quarter, mapping dependencies, and resourcing the squad appropriately.

  • Contributing to the broader strategy formed by the Product Lead by proposing initiatives and providing effort/feasibility inputs.

  • Ensuring the product backlog is fit for purpose in delivery, aligned with defined digital delivery processes and governance forums.

Requirements
  • Experience running multi-speed approach of discovery, design and delivery
  • Demonstrated experience leading work in an agile squad with a deep understanding of prioritisation and lean product techniques
  • Experience working in a fast paced, dynamic, and collaborative environment alongside both business and start-up partners
  • An analytical focus with an appreciation of data analysis, commercial drivers, business viability and technical feasibility
  • A tertiary qualification (or equivalent experience) with Agile Digital Product Manager qualifications/experience.
  • Proven facilitation skills to run engaging and productive workshops and meetings
  • A genuine passion and empathy for Bupa customers, with an appetite to deeply understand their customer journeys and preferences
  • Expertise and demonstrable application of modern forms of product planning, customer discovery, product discovery, and product development process and execution
