Network Consulting Engineer

Role Summary
The Consulting Engineer 2 will support enterprise network infrastructure modernization projects, with a focus on migrating Cisco Catalyst switches from the 3650 to the 9350 platform. This mid-level role involves designing, implementing, and troubleshooting network solutions while working closely with customers and internal teams. The position requires technical expertise in Cisco networking technologies and project delivery in a customer-facing environment.

Responsibilities 

• Assist customers in planning, designing, and implementing Cisco network solutions.
• Support Cisco Catalyst migration projects, including configuration, deployment, validation, and troubleshooting.
• Drive technology implementation, execution, and optimization for customer engagements.
• Work with clients to diagnose and resolve network issues related to migration and ongoing operations.
• Support pre-sales activities by translating business requirements into technical solutions.
• Build and validate configurations in lab environments to test migration procedures and compatibility.
• Develop and deliver project documentation, implementation plans, and customer-facing collateral.
• Collaborate with onsite personnel and stakeholders to ensure smooth implementation and customer satisfaction.
• Track project activities using Jira and provide regular status updates.
• Support customer technology transitions by adhering to established methodologies and best practices.

Qualifications 

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or equivalent experience.
• 1 to 3 years of relevant networking experience.
• Experience deploying, upgrading, and troubleshooting Cisco Catalyst switching environments.
• Familiarity with Cisco Catalyst Center and Cisco Catalyst SD-WAN.
• Experience with Cisco Software-Defined Access (SDA) and Fabric-Enabled Wireless architectures.
• Strong understanding of enterprise LAN switching, VLANs, routing, and network migration methodologies.
• Ability to work independently and coordinate remotely with teams and onsite resources.
• Hands-on experience with Catalyst 3650 to Catalyst 9350 migration projects (preferred).
• Supporting large enterprise campus network refresh initiatives (preferred).
• Familiarity with Cisco implementation, change management, and validation processes (preferred).

Publishing Pay Range: $28.00 - $30.00 Hourly
This is a fully remote role and can be performed from any approved location within the United States.
