Overview
TEKsystems is seeking a Chief Network Architect to lead the design, engineering, and evolution of large-scale enterprise network environments supporting critical DoD missions across the Pacific region. This role will serve as the senior technical authority responsible for network architecture, standards, modernization initiatives, and complex operational support across classified and unclassified environments. Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Network Engineering, Computer Science, Information Systems, Electrical Engineering, Cybersecurity, or related field.
- 10-15+ years of progressive network engineering experience.
- 7+ years serving as a Network Architect, Chief Engineer, Technical Lead, or similar senior-level role within - DoD, federal, or national security environments.
Deep expertise in:
- Enterprise routing and switching
- BGP, OSPF, MPLS, Multicast
- VLAN/VRF segmentation
- QoS and traffic engineering
- Firewalls and network security
- SDN and WAN technologies
- Network monitoring and management tools
- High availability and disaster recovery architectures
- PACE communications planning
Experience designing and supporting large-scale DoD networks, including:
- NIPRNet and SIPRNet environments
- JWICS, CENTRIX/MPE, CSfC, Type 1 encryption, and/or Cross Domain Solutions (CDS)
Strong understanding of:
- RMF
- Zero Trust Architecture
- STIG compliance
- Vulnerability management
- Configuration and change management Key Responsibilities:
- Lead the design and maintenance of enterprise network architecture supporting mission operations across Hawaii, Alaska, Japan/Okinawa, the Pacific region, and CONUS locations.
- Develop logical, physical, cybersecurity, and operational network architectures aligned with mission requirements.
- Own the enterprise network technical baseline, including routing, switching, segmentation, QoS, firewalls, SDN, WAN, encryption, monitoring, and high-availability solutions.
- Review and approve network engineering packages, implementation plans, configurations, IP schemas, routing plans, cutover strategies, and as-built documentation.
- Serve as the senior escalation point for Tier 3/4 network issues involving routing, transport, interoperability, performance, failover, and security boundary challenges.
- Lead root cause analysis efforts and drive corrective actions for mission-critical network incidents.
- Mentor and provide technical leadership to engineering teams supporting design, implementation, and sustainment activities.
- Ensure network architectures align with Zero Trust, ICAM, continuous monitoring, STIG, and cybersecurity requirements.
- Advise program leadership on technical readiness, risk management, and network modernization initiatives.
- Drive standardization and consistency across enterprise network deployments and site integrations. Preferred Experience:
- Enterprise architecture and modernization within geographically dispersed DoD environments.
- Large-scale classified network implementations.
- Experience supporting command, control, communications, and mission support systems.
- Familiarity with cross-domain technologies, advanced encryption solutions, and multi-site network integration efforts. Why Join Us?
