Associate - Investment Banking

Location: Chicago, IL

A growing investment banking platform is seeking an Associate to support the execution of M&A, capital raising, and strategic advisory assignments. This role offers significant exposure to transaction execution, client interaction, financial analysis, and business development initiatives across a variety of industries.



Responsibilities

  • Perform financial analyses and valuation work to support advisory transactions and strategic recommendations.
  • Review and provide guidance on analyst work product.
  • Conduct industry, company, and market research to support live transactions and business development efforts.
  • Lead due diligence processes, financial analysis, and transaction documentation.
  • Prepare client presentations, marketing materials, information memoranda, and transaction-related deliverables.
  • Identify and proactively address transaction challenges while communicating key issues to senior team members.
  • Assist in developing strategic frameworks, internal resources, and business development materials.
  • Participate in client meetings, management presentations, and transaction discussions.
  • Help improve internal processes and workflows to drive efficiency.
  • Support recruiting, training, and mentorship efforts for junior team members.
  • Build relationships with clients and senior executives throughout the transaction process.


Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree required.
  • 4+ years of professional experience, including 1-3 years of investment banking, M&A advisory, corporate finance, transaction advisory, or related experience.
  • Strong understanding of accounting, corporate finance, and valuation methodologies.
  • Excellent financial modeling and analytical skills.
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
  • Strong project management and organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, client-focused environment.
  • FINRA licenses (or the ability to obtain them within a specified period after joining) preferred.
