Process Automation Engineer

Marathon Petroleum seeks a Process Automation Engineer to design, implement, and optimize control and automation systems across refining and logistics assets. Responsibilities

• Design, program, and maintain PLC, DCS, and SCADA systems for refining and logistics operations
• Optimize process control strategies to improve reliability, efficiency, and product quality
• Support safety and environmental compliance through robust control and shutdown logic
• Troubleshoot automation and instrumentation issues with operations and maintenance teams
• Lead or support automation scope on capital and reliability projects
• Develop and maintain control system documentation, P&IDs, and standards
• Collaborate with IT and OT teams to ensure secure, reliable industrial networks
• Analyze process and historian data to identify improvements and reduce downtime
