Job Description

Role Overview

  • Part of the Quality Control team supporting the Securities-Based Lending (SBL) line of business.
  • Primarily a quality assurance/data quality review role rather than a credit-risk or underwriting position.
  • Reviews daily/weekly/monthly samples to validate accuracy, completeness, timeliness, documentation and process adherence.
  • Includes some regulatory/compliance-related reviews.
  • Review loan data and reports for accuracy and completeness.
  • Validate loan documentation and execution.
  • Review applications and credit agreements.
  • Validate collateral values where applicable.
  • Ensure processes/ documentation are completed within required timelines.
  • Perform regulatory/control reviews.
  • Identify data quality or process issues and ensure appropriate controls are followed.
  • Controls are a combination of report/system-based and manual reviews.
  • Internal loan applications/systems will be trained on the job; candidates do not need prior experience with the specific systems.
  • Excel is the primary external technical requirement

Must-Have Experience

  • 3–5 years of lending experience, sec lending will be a differentiator
  • Strong ability to read and understand loan documents.
  • Experience with loan systems/applications and loan operations is highly relevant.
  • Understanding of loan payments and collateral.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to identify data/documentation discrepancies.
  • Excel: solid working knowledge required; basic filtering/spreadsheet manipulation is sufficient. No advanced formulas, macros, VLOOKUPs or pivot tables required.
  • Loan Operations background would be a strong fit.

Nice-to-Have

  • Securities-Based Lending (SBL) experience is preferred but not mandatory.
  • Familiarity with brokerage accounts, collateral and securities-backed facilities.
  • Experience with commercial real estate or life insurance premium finance lending is useful but represents a smaller portion of the work.
