The Role • Supervise and conduct assessments and experiments to support system qualification. • Contribute to ongoing design optimisation for advanced systems. • Produce and review radiological safety justifications for proposed design solutions. • Direct the development of in-house toolsets to meet departmental goals. • Support detailed shielding design, balancing build constraints with system performance requirements. What You'll Need • A relevant STEM degree (Physics, Mathematics, Chemistry, or Nuclear Engineering). • Demonstrable experience using radiation transport codes (e.g., MCNP, MCBEND, Attilla). • Strong understanding of radiation physics and its practical applications. • Experience in radiation safety studies and behaviours. • Experience in radiation metrology. • Knowledge of the ALARP principle.
