Job Description

We are looking for an enthusiastic experienced clinician to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a passion for supporting consumers that experience mental health challenges on their recovery journeys using compassion and evidence-based rehabilitation strategies. Allied Health Professionals Level 3: $2,329.85 - $2,2405.34
Psychologist: $1,603.53 - $2,347.04
Clinical Psychologist: $2,264.57 - $2,760.16
Clinical Nurse Specialist Grade 2: $2,458.90 - $2,539.80

Specialist Rehabilitation Service - Hornsby Sector

What you'll be doing

The Mental Health Rehabilitation Program (MH-RP) 2005 was established to provide specialist rehabilitation staff to deliver individually targeted assessment and interventions and community linkages for people whose mental illness significantly impairs their ability to function in daily life (due to difficulties in social, psychological or cognitive functioning) including:

  • Expert individual rehabilitation assessment and program development and delivery
  • Consultation and support for community mental health clinicians in rehabilitation assessment & program development and delivery
  • Planned and coordinated integrated service delivery through enhanced service integration with MHDA and its partners.

The position will be sector based: working within non-acute community adult mental health teams including CAMHS and other early intervention programs; to provide psychosocial rehabilitation services (assessment, comprehensive care plan development and intervention support) to consumers of the Sector Adult Mental Health Services and to work in collaboration with community service providers.

People of Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander background are encouraged to apply.

Candidates will need to meet the following criteria
  • Relevant tertiary qualifications in Clinical Psychology, Social Work, Occupational Therapy, Diversional Therapy and Nursing. Clinical Psychologists must have minimum postgraduate Masters in Clinical Psychology and current registration with AHPRA. For Social Work, eligibility for membership of AASW. Allied Health Professionals must have current AHPRA registration and require experience at a minimum of level 2. Clinical Nurse Specialist a Division 1 Registered Nurse with post registration qualification relevant to speciality and at least 3 years experience working in the clinical area of their post graduate qualification or such other qualifications or relevant equivalent experience.
  • Extensive clinical experience and specialist knowledge in assessment of a Mental Health Consumer's capacity to engage in meaningful occupation/activity and provide rehabilitation that is goal orientated, facilitates living skills, life role development and promotes social inclusion in consumers' lives.
  • Experience with evidence based practice, work experience providing mental health rehabilitation services within a recovery paradigm, clinical experience with a variety of psychosocial interventions to assist in consumer goal attainment including but not limited to psycho-education, family work, motivational interviewing and cognitive behavioural therapy.
  • Current NSW motor vehicle drivers licence.
