AS400 / RPG Mainframe Developer

Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced AS400 / RPG Mainframe Developer with strong expertise in IBM iSeries (AS400) application development and maintenance. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience with RPG programming, CL, DB2/400, and legacy enterprise applications. The role involves designing, developing, enhancing, and supporting mission-critical business applications while collaborating with business analysts, QA teams, and other developers.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, develop, maintain, and support applications on IBM AS400 (IBM i) platform.
• Develop and enhance applications using RPG III, RPG IV (ILE RPG), RPG Free, CLLE, and SQLRPGLE.
• Work with DB2/400 databases, embedded SQL, and query optimization.
• Analyze business requirements and convert them into technical solutions.
• Develop, test, and implement new features and production fixes.
• Troubleshoot application issues and provide production support.
• Participate in code reviews and maintain coding standards.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams during system integration and testing.
• Support batch processing, job scheduling, and system performance improvements.
• Prepare technical documentation and deployment plans.
