Job Summary

We are seeking a reliable and experienced Handyman / Maintenance Technician to join our hotel maintenance team in Mount Laurel, NJ. The ideal candidate will be responsible for maintaining guest rooms, public areas, facilities, and equipment to ensure a safe, clean, and comfortable environment for guests and employees.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform routine maintenance and repairs throughout the hotel, including guest rooms, hallways, lobby, offices, and other common areas.
• Troubleshoot and repair basic plumbing, electrical, HVAC, carpentry, and mechanical issues.
• Repair or replace faucets, toilets, sinks, light fixtures, switches, outlets, doors, locks, and other fixtures.
• Perform minor drywall repairs, patching, caulking, painting, and touch-up work.
• Conduct preventive maintenance on hotel equipment, fixtures, and building systems.
• Respond promptly to maintenance requests from guests, housekeeping, front desk, and management.
• Inspect guest rooms and public areas for maintenance issues and safety hazards.
• Assist with furniture, fixtures, appliances, and equipment repairs or installation.
• Maintain tools, equipment, and maintenance supplies in an organized condition.
• Follow hotel safety procedures and OSHA requirements.
• Maintain accurate records of completed maintenance work and report major issues to management.
• Assist outside contractors and vendors when required.
• Perform emergency maintenance duties when necessary.
• Support other hotel departments with general maintenance-related tasks.

Required Qualifications

• 2+ years of experience in hotel maintenance, building maintenance, facilities maintenance, handyman, or a related field.
• Working knowledge of basic plumbing, electrical, HVAC, carpentry, painting, and general repairs.
• Ability to diagnose problems and determine appropriate repair solutions.
• Ability to use common hand and power tools safely.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to guest satisfaction.
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
• Good communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to lift, carry, bend, climb ladders, and perform physical maintenance tasks.
• Ability to work flexible schedules, including weekends and holidays.

Preferred Qualifications

• Previous experience in a hotel or hospitality environment.
• HVAC troubleshooting or EPA certification is a plus.
• Experience with preventive maintenance programs and computerized maintenance systems is preferred.
• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.

Physical Requirements

• Ability to stand and walk for extended periods.
• Ability to lift and carry maintenance materials and equipment.
• Ability to work in confined spaces and at heights using ladders.
• Ability to perform repetitive physical tasks, bending, kneeling, reaching, and climbing.
