Sr. QA Automation Engineer | 100% Remote | W2 Profiles

Title: Senior Automation Engineer

Location: 100% remote

Must Haves

5-8+ years of experience in Software Quality Engineering, QA Automation, or Test Automation

Engineering

Strong hands-on experience with:

o Python

o Playwright (UI Automation)

o PyTest

o API Testing and RESTful Services

Experience designing, building, and maintaining automation frameworks from the ground up

Experience developing automated test suites for web applications and APIs

Strong understanding of:

o Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC)

o Agile methodologies

o Quality Engineering principles

Experience integrating automated testing into CI/CD pipelines

Hands-on experience with:

o GitHub Actions

o Jenkins

o Continuous Testing practices

·       Working knowledge of AWS and cloud-hosted applications

Experience with:

o Test reporting and metrics

o Root cause analysis

o Defect prevention

o Debugging production-quality systems

·       Strong problem-solving, analytical, written, and verbal communication skills

·       Proven ability to collaborate effectively with Engineering, Product, and QE teams

Pluses

·       Healthcare, insurance, or other regulated industry experience

·       Experience testing distributed systems and microservices architectures

Familiarity with:

o Contract testing

o Service virtualization

Exposure to:

o Performance testing

o Reliability testing

·       Experience with Docker or other container technologies

Experience using monitoring and logging tools such as:

o Splunk

o Datadog

o Grafana

o CloudWatch

·       Experience with test data management and environment management

·       Knowledge of AI-assisted testing tools and emerging QE practices

Day-to-Day Responsibilities

·       Design, develop, and maintain scalable UI and API automation frameworks

·       Create and execute automated test suites using Playwright, Python, and PyTest

·       Develop automation solutions for REST APIs and application integrations

·       Build reusable automation utilities, libraries, and reporting tools

·       Integrate automated tests into CI/CD pipelines to support continuous delivery

·       Validate application functionality, integrations, and end-to-end workflows

·       Support testing and execution activities within AWS environments

·       Partner with developers, product managers, and QA teams to define test strategies and coverage

·       Participate in requirements reviews, design discussions, sprint ceremonies, and release planning

·       Investigate test failures, perform root cause analysis, and drive issue prevention

·       Improve automation reliability, maintainability, and execution efficiency

·       Contribute to quality metrics, reporting, and release readiness assessments

·       Champion quality engineering best practices across teams
