System Engineer

Key Responsibilities

Install, configure, and maintain servers, operating systems, and enterprise applications.

Monitor system performance and troubleshoot hardware, software, and network issues.

Manage user accounts, permissions, and access controls.

Implement system security measures, including patches, updates, antivirus, and firewall configurations.

Perform regular system backups and disaster recovery planning.

Maintain and support virtualization platforms and cloud infrastructure.

Collaborate with network, security, and application teams to ensure seamless operations.

Document system configurations, procedures, and troubleshooting guides.

Automate routine administrative tasks using scripting tools.

Ensure compliance with organizational policies and industry standards.

Required Skills and Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or related field.

Experience with Windows Server, Linux/Unix operating systems.

Knowledge of networking concepts (TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, VPN, VLANs).

Familiarity with virtualization technologies such as VMware or Hyper-V.

Experience with cloud platforms such as Amazon Web Services, Microsoft Azure, or Google Cloud.

Understanding of cybersecurity best practices and system hardening.

Proficiency in scripting languages such as PowerShell, Bash, or Python.

Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.

Certifications such as

Microsoft Certified: Azure Administrator

Cisco CCNA/CCNP

Red Hat RHCSA/RHCE

CompTIA Server+ or Security+
