The Opportunity

We're seeking a skilled and motivated data-focused Software Developer to join our team in South Melbourne. This role provides the opportunity to work across backend systems, data engineering, and integrations, helping to design and deliver scalable, high-quality solutions across multiple platforms. You will play a key role in building robust data pipelines, improving system performance, and ensuring seamless integration between systems. Working within an agile environment, you'll collaborate closely with both technical and non-technical stakeholders to deliver impactful outcomes.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain integrations using Python and SQL Server Integration Services (SSIS).
• Write optimised and complex SQL queries, stored procedures, and views for ETL processes and data integrations.
• Build and maintain integrations with third party REST/SOAP APIs and internal MSSQL databases.
• Design and support data pipelines, ensuring data quality, consistency, and integrity across integrated systems.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver solutions aligned to business requirements.
• Contribute to agile workflows using tools such as Jira, Confluence, and Git for version control.

Required Skills and Competencies

• 5+ years of Python experience in backend, data engineering, or integration roles, with strong MSSQL skills including performance tuning and query optimisation.
• Hands-on expertise designing and supporting SSIS packages in Visual Studio, with proficient use of SSMS for database development and troubleshooting.
• Solid experience integrating RESTful APIs, with a strong grasp of RDBMS concepts, data modelling, and ETL patterns.
• Sharp debugging and problem-solving ability to resolve complex data and integration issues across multiple systems, using Git for version control.
• Strong communicator who thrives in Agile environments, collaborates across technical and non-technical teams, and delivers independently using tools like Jira and Confluence.
