Quick overview
Job description
About Oath
Oath is the strategic giving platform designed to help donors maximize the impact of their contributions by guiding them to the races and causes where their dollars can make the greatest impact. Oath has directed over $150M while protecting donors' data and avoiding the spam and spin of other giving platforms. As the one stop shop for a generation of donors who want to make a difference, Oath is building the future of philanthropy.
The Opportunity
You'll run the channels that bring new grassroots donors into Oath and turn existing donors into recruiters. Your mission is to grow Oath's donor base through paid media and peer-to-peer programs while building a community of donors who share Oath with their networks. The role is about 70% paid media and peer-to-peer marketing and 30% community building. You'll own budgets, test fast, and report what works, with the 2028 presidential cycle as the biggest acquisition moment in Oath's history. You'll have the autonomy to build these programs your way, with the support of the Head of Growth and a team across email, social, and creator partnerships.
- Own the donor journey: Own the experience from first impression to sign-up, including what donors see in ads and how they experience Oath at every step after.
- Set budgets and targets: Build and own the annual and quarterly budget for paid media and peer-to-peer. Set cost-per-donor, acquisition, and retention targets by channel and funnel stage, forecast against them, and shift budget to what performs.
- Own paid media: Plan, launch, and optimize campaigns across Meta, Google, and emerging platforms. Own targeting, creative testing, and pacing. Build new audiences to reach new donor archetypes, and plan around reach, saturation, and the cost to acquire a new donor, not just ROAS.
- Lead campaign ideation: Develop the campaign-level ideas behind paid and peer-to-peer pushes: the concept, the audience, the offer, and the creative direction. Brief designers, writers, and creators, and push the team beyond the obvious idea.
- Build community, ambassadors, and the peer-to-peer program: Manage Oath’s community spaces and give donors who want to do more a clear way to get involved. Find, train, and support the volunteer ambassadors and creators who bring new donors to Oath. Launch and run donor-to-donor texting, referral campaigns, giving circles, and shareable race pages that turn donors into bundlers.
- Write, test, and optimize: Draft and iterate ad copy, landing pages, and P2P scripts in Oath’s voice: direct, data-grounded, and never alarmist. Work with engineering and product to design landing page tests, run structured A/B tests, and drive conversion rate optimization. Get excited about building and optimizing routines with AI tools.
- Partner cross-functionally: Work closely with Email & Lifecycle, Social & Creator Partnerships, and Partnerships so every channel tells one story. Be comfortable in HubSpot and collaborate with lifecycle marketing on CRM.
- Time campaigns and support earned media: Plan pushes around major national cultural and political events, and help broaden our reach through earned media, exploring new efforts and tracking the results.
- Report, measure, and iterate: Own weekly reporting on spend, cost per donor, conversion, and retention by channel, with a clear story of what moved and why. Own measurement across the full top-of-funnel team (community, influencer and affiliate, events), and build a scorecard leadership can trust. Understand our economics well enough to shift budget to what performs.
- Strong background: 6+ years in paid digital, performance marketing, or digital fundraising (ideally for political, advocacy, or nonprofit organizations); growth roles at leading tech or consumer companies; MBB consulting; investment banking; or VC/PE. Your background signals exceptional caliber.
- High bar: You hold yourself accountable for both quality and results, and you’re comfortable pushing beyond the obvious idea.
- Hands-on operator: You have a proven track record managing large paid budgets with strong ROI and setting targets you then hit. You’re data-literate: you can read dashboards, interpret metrics, and turn data into decisions. Hands-on experience with peer-to-peer texting or relational organizing tools is a plus, and so is experience building or moderating online communities.
- Strong writer and creative thinker: You’re comfortable drafting and testing creative in a set brand voice, and you generate campaign ideas that work.
- Thinker and doer: You have a bias toward action, like being scrappy and creative, and connect the dots across the org. No task is too small or too big.
- Mission-driven and winning mindset: You’re excited about politics & civic engagement and you get excited about every new donor we reach.
- Base Salary: 130-160K
- Equity package
- Health Insurance: Comprehensive medical, dental, and vision coverage
- Retirement: 401(k) matching
- Time Off: Flexible PTO
- Office: 3 days per week in our NYC headquarters; flexible remote work for the other 2 day
