Power Purchase Agreement (PPA) & Commercial Asset Management
Location: Remote (Supporting California, USA)
Position Summary
The Senior Manager - Asset Management is responsible for the commercial, contractual, and financial management of a portfolio of utility-scale and commercial renewable energy assets in California. This role ensures compliance with Power Purchase Agreements (PPAs), maximizes project profitability, manages financial performance, and serves as the primary liaison between utilities, investors, lenders, landowners, O&M teams, and internal stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities
Power Purchase Agreement (PPA) Management
• Administer and manage Power Purchase Agreements (PPAs) throughout the asset lifecycle.
• Ensure compliance with contractual obligations, pricing structures, billing provisions, and performance guarantees.
• Review and manage PPAs, O&M Agreements, EPC Contracts, Interconnection Agreements, and lease agreements.
• Prepare contract amendments, notices, and commercial correspondence.
Commercial & Financial Asset Management
• Monitor portfolio financial performance, project profitability, and operating budgets.
• Validate utility invoices and reconcile energy production with revenue settlements.
• Review operating expenses, vendor invoices, and cash flow.
• Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual performance reports for management and investors.
Fund, Lease & Payment Administration
• Manage project operating funds and reserve accounts.
• Process land lease payments, lease escalations, and contract renewals.
• Coordinate lender reporting, investor distributions, and financial compliance.
• Support project audits and refinancing activities.
REC & Regulatory Management
• Manage Renewable Energy Certificate (REC) registrations, issuance, transfers, and sales (WREGIS).
• Ensure compliance with California utility requirements, interconnection agreements, and regulatory obligations.
• Coordinate with utilities regarding billing, settlements, and commercial issues.
Portfolio & Stakeholder Management
• Coordinate with Operations & Maintenance teams to improve plant performance.
• Monitor asset KPIs, plant availability, warranty claims, and contractor performance.
• Maintain strong relationships with utilities, investors, lenders, landowners, EPC contractors, and service providers.
• Lead commercial meetings and provide executive-level portfolio reporting.

Qualifications
• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Renewable Energy, Business Administration, or related field.
• MBA or Master's degree preferred.
• 8-12 years of experience in Renewable Energy Asset Management or Commercial Operations.
• Strong experience managing utility-scale solar and Battery Energy Storage System (BESS) assets.
• Demonstrated expertise in Power Purchase Agreement (PPA) administration and contract management.
• Experience supporting California renewable energy projects and working with utilities and regulatory agencies.
• Proven ability to manage remote teams and collaborate across multiple time zones.
