Section Engineer - Geotechnical Location:
Plymouth - Devonport Royal Dockyard<br />Working Hours: 45 Hours per week, 07:30 - 17:00<br />This role is site based - Monday to Friday.<br />Inside IR35, rates are open to discussion<br />BPSS clearance 12 month contract Key Tasks and Accountabilities In this role, you will be working in a live MOD facility.
Your day-to-day tasks will include:
Manage in the preparation of 'as-built drawings'.<br />Establishing effective systems to record work completed updating the Project Quality Plan accordingly.<br />To manage in managing systems to enable the progress of work to be reviewed against time, quality, dimensions and quantity.<br />Assist in the recording and testing of workmanship and materials, i.e., drilling, grouting & anchoringetc.<br />Provides engineering support to ensure technical problems are overcome and technical queries are answered.<br />Responsible for setting out works constructed within allowable tolerances.<br />Ensures workforce understand setting out information has been identified as suitable for the type of work being carried out.<br />Manage the preparation of sketches for distribution on site, ensuring clear communication channels are in place for effective understanding.<br />Responsible for providing and maintaining setting out and dimensional control, to ensure accurate construction of the work.<br />To be aware of the provisions of the Safety, Health, and Environmental Management System and to assist in its implementation to ensure a safe working environment.<br />Record instructions.<br />Maintain drawing register.
Who are we looking for?
Academic Qualification (Level 3, or above ie HNC,HND, Degree)<br />Experience in various geotechnical applications such as drilling, grouting, anchor installation, inspection and testing is essential.<br />Awareness of commercial processes.<br />Team leader with organisational skills.<br />Good standard of IT skills including, CAD and BIM systems<br />Familiar with Quality Management System and familiar in writing RAMS.<br />CSCS - White PQP/AQP<br />SMSTS Desirable:
Experience in geotechnical projects<br />TWC<br />Nuclear experience<br />May be working towards Chartership/Incorporation with IOM3, ICE or other appropriate professional body
