Job Description

Lead Firewall Engineer | Fairfax, VA | On-site | $131,300.00 - $237,350.00 This employer is a recognized leader in digital modernization and technology solutions for government and commercial clients. They are seeking a dedicated professional to join their cybersecurity team, focusing on safeguarding critical network infrastructure. The Role • Design, implement, and manage complex firewall solutions utilizing Cisco ASA/Firepower, Juniper SRX, and Palo Alto platforms. • Monitor firewall performance and analyze security logs to identify and mitigate potential threats proactively. • Develop and enforce robust network security policies and procedures to maintain integrity. • Conduct system audits to ensure adherence to industry standards and regulatory compliance. • Collaborate effectively with cross-functional IT, Security, and Network teams for seamless integration. • Serve as a People Leader, guiding and mentoring a team responsible for firewall operations and projects. What You'll Need • Bachelor's degree and 12+ years of directly relevant experience, or equivalent military/work experience. • Minimum of 3 years of firewall experience within the DoD environment. • Demonstrated experience in leading and managing a Firewall Team of significant size. • Proven knowledge of implementing perimeter and internal firewalls (physical and virtual). • Advanced experience in managing baseline configurations across multiple firewalls and evaluating rules for optimal security. • Active DoD Top Secret security clearance with eligibility for TS/SCI; an active TS/SCI is preferred. • DoD 8570 IAT II or higher certification and a Juniper, Cisco, or Palo Alto certification are required prior to start.
