The Opportunity

StaffRight Associates has been retained by a distinguished partner to identify a high-performing Technical Engineer III for a 12+ month remote W2 contract engagement within the United States. Serving as a crucial driver of technical excellence, the selected professional will architect, refine, and support mission-critical security and cloud networking infrastructure. What You’ll Do

• Architect, deploy, and maintain advanced firewall infrastructure to satisfy evolving organizational demands.

• Formulate and govern robust firewall rule sets while ensuring strict alignment with security and compliance standards.

• Engineer and support cloud infrastructure configurations utilizing Azure Network Engineering across cloud environments.

• Champion cross-functional collaboration with technology management, senior engineers, and support teams to design technical solutions.

• Engage directly with enterprise business partners across all organizational levels to clarify requirements and elicit specifications.

• Author and preserve comprehensive architectural documentation, operational standards, and policies for supported technologies.

• Guide, coach, and elevate less experienced engineers through thorough peer reviews of documentation and proposed technical changes.

• Coordinate external vendor interactions and direct third-party vendor resources to execute network and firewall initiatives.

• Maximize adherence to risk management frameworks, regulatory mandates, and internal control standards, escalating issues proactively.

What You Bring

• Demonstrable mastery spanning 2-3 years of direct experience with Firewall Infrastructure and Rule Engineering.

• Deep operational experience leveraging Checkpoint Firewall platforms; strong technical background utilizing Palo Alto or equivalent enterprise systems.

• Solid hands-on proficiency in Azure Networking and Firewall Engineering.

• Core foundational command of Network Routing, Virtual Gateway Protocols, and Core Networking Concepts.

• Proven background operating within a enterprise-level Highly-Regulated Industry such as banking, healthcare, or defense.

• Strong track record of hands-on technical execution valued above formal certifications.

• Superior verbal and written communication skills paired with a collaborative, team-first mindset.

• Valued industry credentials including CISSP, Checkpoint Firewall, or Aviatrix certifications considered a distinct plus.

Compensation & Total Rewards

• Hourly Compensation Rate: $60.00 – $70.00 per hour.
