Job Description

Amazon Web Services, Inc. is seeking a Data Center Manager to lead 24x7 operations in a high-availability cloud environment. You will own uptime, capacity, and reliability for critical AWS infrastructure, managing a team of technicians and engineers. Responsibilities include incident, change, and problem management; capacity planning; hardware lifecycle; and vendor coordination. You will enforce strict security, safety, and compliance standards while driving continuous improvement, automation, and cost optimization in a fast-paced, customer-obsessed culture focused on innovation and ownership.

Responsibilities

  • Own day-to-day operations of an AWS data center, ensuring high availability and uptime for critical cloud services.
  • Manage and mentor a team of data center technicians and engineers, including scheduling and performance management.
  • Oversee capacity planning, hardware lifecycle, and infrastructure upgrades to meet growth and reliability goals.
  • Implement and improve operational processes for incident, change, and problem management in a 24x7 environment.
  • Ensure compliance with AWS security, safety, and regulatory standards across all facility operations.
  • Collaborate with engineering, networking, and AWS service teams to resolve complex infrastructure issues.
  • Monitor performance and health of data center systems using metrics, dashboards, and automation tools.
  • Manage vendor relationships, on-site contractors, and maintenance activities to minimize risk and downtime.
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives focused on efficiency, resilience, and cost optimization.
  • Report operational metrics, risks, and improvement plans to leadership and key stakeholders.
