The organisation is currently undertaking significant investment in technology modernisation, cyber resilience, cloud adoption and secure by design initiatives, creating an exciting opportunity for an experienced Cyber Security Architect to contribute to large scale transformation programs that deliver meaningful national outcomes.
About the RoleWe are seeking an experienced Cyber Security Architect to join a high performing technology team based in Canberra. This role will play a critical part in designing and assuring secure technology solutions across a diverse and complex enterprise environment.
Working closely with project teams, technical stakeholders and senior leadership, you will be responsible for providing strategic security guidance, developing architecture artefacts, and ensuring security requirements are embedded throughout the solution lifecycle.
Key Responsibilities- Design secure and scalable security architectures for enterprise transformation initiatives.
- Provide expert advice on cyber security architecture, risk management and security controls.
- Develop and present architecture documentation through technical governance and approval processes.
- Support secure by design principles across cloud, hybrid and on premises environments.
- Collaborate with business and technical stakeholders to achieve security outcomes and project objectives.
- Contribute to security uplift activities, continuous improvement initiatives and technology strategy.
- Mentor team members and promote cyber security best practice across the broader organisation.
The ideal candidate will have a strong background in designing and implementing security architecture within large and complex enterprise environments.
You will possess:- Demonstrated experience in Cyber Security Architecture roles.
- Strong knowledge of enterprise security architecture and secure by design methodologies.
- Experience with network security, cloud security, hybrid environments, and security governance frameworks.
- Security monitoring, risk management, assurance and compliance experience.
- Exceptional stakeholder engagement and communication skills, with the ability to influence technical and non technical audiences.
- A collaborative approach with proven experience working across multidisciplinary teams.
- Experience working within Government or highly regulated environments will be highly regarded.
Location: The role is based in Barton, Canberra ACT.
Office Type: Onsite
Contract terms: 36 months from commencement date, plus rolling 12 month extensions as required.
Estimated Hours: 37.5 per week
Security Requirements: Due to the nature of this position, candidates must hold a minimum NV1 security clearance.
