SHIFT MAINTENANCE ENGINEER

BEAMINSTER

PERMANENT POSITION

£52,496.81 per annum, inclusive of shift premium

Working hours 7:00am to 7:00pm and 7:00pm to 7:00am on a 4, 5, 5 rolling shift pattern

Immediate Start, notice periods considered

We are looking for a SHIFT MAINTENANCE ENGINEER to join our client on a permanent basis.

Undertaking the responsibility of ensuring the safe, efficient, and continuous operation of all production machinery, utilities, and engineering systems within the factory during the assigned shift. Responsibility for monitoring equipment performance, carrying out preventive and corrective maintenance, troubleshooting breakdowns, minimizing production downtime, and ensuring that all engineering activities comply with safety, quality, and operational standards. Continuing looking at where improvements can be made to maximise equipment efficiency, service and consistency whilst ensuring that health and safety and quality standards are never compromised.

Key Duties and Responsibilities

  • Quick resolution to plant breakdowns, faults, QA issues.
  • Carry out planned preventative maintenance utilising agreed schedule.
  • All planned and reactive maintenance is to be entered into the CMMS.
  • Ensure that the achievement of food safety is always a priority.
  • In association with the Engineering co-ordinator and planning, Complete the preventative maintenance schedule on time and within costs.
  • Tasks to be completed in a safe manner and all equipment to be kept in a safe condition.
  • Minimise Plant downtime due to mechanical and electrical failure
  • Monitor plant condition on a regular basis to prevent unnecessary equipment failures
  • Support the Plant internal hygiene audit ensuring contribution to score increases audit on audit
  • Work in conjunction with the Engineering Manager to contribute to projects whilst identifying productivity and equipment energy and efficiency improvements.
  • Ensure site facilities and utilities are kept both Electrically and mechanically safe.
  • Drive Engineering workshop housekeeping to a very high standard
  • Control of Contractors, Permits To Work etc.
  • Compliance with IFS and Organic Certification standard
  • Follow and comply with food safety and quality culture
  • You may be required to undertake such other duties as may reasonably be required of you

Experience

  • Proven experience in electrical and mechanical maintenance within a manufacturing or industrial environment
  • Excellent communication skills in English for clear reporting and team coordination
  • Ability to interpret technical drawings, schematics, and maintenance manuals effectively
