Network Operations Manager

Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced Network Operations Manager to lead enterprise network operations, infrastructure reliability, and network security initiatives. This role is responsible for overseeing network performance, security, equipment, service levels, and operational support while aligning technology strategy with business objectives. The ideal candidate will have strong network architecture and operations experience, excellent leadership and communication skills, and the ability to manage complex infrastructure in high-pressure environments.

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement standards, procedures, and processes for network operations and security.
• Establish IT strategies that align technology initiatives with business objectives.
• Oversee daily network operations and coordinate network and security activities.
• Serve as a network architecture resource and provide recommendations for maintaining secure, reliable, and current infrastructure.
• Manage network performance, availability, reliability, and service levels.
• Plan and manage the implementation and support of new technologies, including wireless networking.
• Develop, configure, maintain, support, and optimize network hardware, software, and communication links.
• Configure and support routers, switches, firewalls, VPNs, and Voice over IP (VoIP) systems.
• Perform network troubleshooting and resolve infrastructure issues in a timely manner.
• Support servers, Windows workstations, operating systems, and applicable applications.
• Monitor and troubleshoot Active Directory and related network services.
• Support DNS, Group Policy, and Windows desktop operating systems.
• Provide network-related support for end users, including hardware, software, printers, antivirus solutions, logon scripts, and connectivity issues.
• Maintain and support network security technologies, including malware, spyware, antivirus, and related security solutions.
• Support security-related issues involving NTFS and shared permissions.
• Provide Microsoft Teams and SharePoint administration.
• Support virtualized environments and business continuity initiatives.
• Coordinate network operations across distributed environments.
• Prioritize and execute technical tasks during high-pressure and emergency situations.
• Provide consultative support to technical teams and management.
• Mentor technical staff and share knowledge and best practices.
• Translate business requirements into technical specifications and communicate technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.

Required Qualifications

• Demonstrated experience managing enterprise network operations and service levels.
• Experience with network architecture, infrastructure, and operational support.
• Experience managing network performance, availability, and reliability.
• Experience supporting network hardware, software, and communications infrastructure.
• Experience configuring and supporting routers, switches, firewalls, VPNs, and VoIP systems.
• Experience with DNS, Group Policy, Active Directory, and Windows operating systems.
• Experience troubleshooting network-related hardware and software issues.
• Experience planning and supporting new network technologies, including wireless.
• Strong understanding of network security principles and practices.
• Experience working in high-pressure environments and responding effectively to emergency situations.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to translate business requirements into technical specifications.
• Strong organizational, time management, and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work independently and adapt to changing technical environments.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience overseeing large or distributed network operations environments.
• Experience serving as a network architect or technical advisor.
• Experience supporting virtualized environments and business continuity.
• Experience administering Microsoft Teams and SharePoint.
• Experience with enterprise server and Windows workstation support.
• Experience with network security, antivirus, malware, and endpoint protection solutions.
• Experience mentoring technical staff and providing technical leadership.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, Visio, and Word.
• Working knowledge of Microsoft Teams and SharePoint.
• Experience with ATM, frame relay, leased-line design, and router configuration.

Work Environment

• Full-time contract
• 100% onsite in Tallahassee, Florida
• Leadership role supporting enterprise network operations, infrastructure, and security.
