Job Summary
We are seeking a talented UX Researcher / UX Designer to join our team and focus on creating intuitive, accessible, and user-centered digital experiences. This is a pure UX research and design role with no coding or software development responsibilities.
The ideal candidate will have strong experience in UX research, user-centered design, journey mapping, wireframing, prototyping, accessibility, and design documentation. Candidates with a background in Human-Computer Interaction (HCI) are highly preferred.
Graduates of the Iowa State University (ISU) HCI program are highly desired.
Primary Responsibilities
- Conduct qualitative and quantitative UX research to understand user needs, behaviors, and pain points.
- Apply user-centered design principles throughout the design process.
- Create detailed user journeys, user flows, and experience maps.
- Develop wireframes, mockups, and interactive prototypes using Figma.
- Translate research findings into actionable design recommendations.
- Create accessible, intuitive, and inclusive experiences following WCAG accessibility standards.
- Collaborate with product managers, business stakeholders, developers, and other UX professionals.
- Document design decisions, specifications, annotations, and research findings.
- Present UX research findings and design recommendations to stakeholders.
- Conduct usability evaluations and iterate designs based on user feedback.
- Maintain UX artifacts and documentation throughout the design lifecycle.
Required Skills & Qualifications
- Strong experience in UX Research and UX Design.
- Advanced proficiency with Figma.
- Experience with UX research methodologies and user-centered design practices.
- Strong experience creating user flows and journey maps.
- Hands-on experience with wireframing and prototyping.
- Strong knowledge of accessibility and WCAG guidelines.
- Excellent stakeholder collaboration and communication skills.
- Experience creating clear and comprehensive design documentation and annotations.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to translate user research into practical design recommendations.
