Shift: Monday-Friday, 8am-4pm

Use your skills to perform a variety of routine accounting duties in compliance with Management & Training Corporation (MTC) and customer directives.

What you will do

• Post routine journal vouchers or accounts payable vouchers, entering vouchers in registers, post subsidiary ledgers or simple cost accounting data.
• Perform any combination of routine calculating, posting and verifying duties to obtain primary financial data.
• Process payments for detainees involved in detainee work program (DWP).
• Process detainee money obtained at intake and release. Process detainee funds deposits sent through money order or other means.
• Responsible for maintenance of routine accounting records and reports in accordance with established procedures such as accounts payable, accounts receivable, inventory control or general accounting records.
• Assist with payroll as applicable.
• Responsible for petty cash.
• Perform miscellaneous clerical duties involving typing, filing, accumulating data and preparation of repetitive reports.
• Requires long periods of sitting and some walking.
• Incumbents are required to work overtime when directed to do so.
• Regular and predictable onsite attendance is required.

What you will need

• High school diploma or GED
• Academic training in bookkeeping, accounting and experience with automated accounting systems or programs highly desired
• One year of varied and responsible accounting or bookkeeping experience
• US citizenship or lawful US permanent resident is required
• Valid driver’s license with an acceptable driving record required
• Must successfully complete required preservice training post-hire
