Job Description

We are seeking a skilled Database Infrastructure engineer to design, maintain, and optimize our core database environments. In this role, you will be the guardian of our data ecosystem, focusing heavily on automation, scheduling management, and infrastructure scaling. You will leverage scripting languages to automate routine maintenance, monitor system health, and orchestrate complex database jobs to ensure maximum uptime and peak performance.

Responsibilities:

  • Infrastructure Management: Design, configure, provision, and manage hardware and software configurations (Azure Cloud services and Windows Servers). Ensure compliance with data governance and State data privacy regulations and manage user permissions.
  • Automated Job Management: Design, implement, and monitor automated database jobs, maintenance tasks, and ETL workflows.
  • Scripting & Automation: Write and maintain robust scripts (SSIS, PowerShell, etc.) to automate routine DBA tasks, deployments, backups, and health checks.
  • Performance Tuning: Proactively monitor system performance, identify bottlenecks, optimize queries, and manage indexing strategies. Ability to resolve hardware, software, and network issues.

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field
  • 7+ years of experience with Microsoft SQL Server, Windows Server, and Azure Cloud
  • Strong hands-on experience with PowerShell and SSIS for scripting and automation
  • Experience designing, configuring, and maintaining database infrastructure in Azure and Windows environments
  • Expertise in database performance tuning, query optimization, indexing, monitoring, backups, and maintenance
  • Experience managing automated database jobs, SQL Agent jobs, scheduled maintenance, and ETL workflows
  • Strong knowledge of High Availability (HA), Disaster Recovery (DR), failover testing, and business continuity
  • Solid understanding of storage systems, network architecture, cloud infrastructure, security, user permissions, and data governance
  • Experience troubleshooting critical production issues involving database, hardware, software, and networking components
  • Familiarity with Azure DevOps, CI/CD pipelines, and supporting .NET applications
  • Experience with Power BI Services, PowerApps, and Power Automate
  • Microsoft Certified: Azure Database Administrator Associate (or equivalent SQL Server certification) is mandatory (Certification must be provided)
  • Must be local to the Metro Atlanta area
