The Senior IBM Master Data Management (MDM) & Integration Developer is responsible for providing ongoing maintenance and support for Master Person Index (MPI), Michigan Index Data Stewardship Portal (MIDSP), and Symmetry applications.
The resource will support and improve automated processes, streamline critical business processes, maintain data integrity, ensure compliance, and secure applications. As a lead, the resource will participate in enhancement, integration, maintenance, and implementation activities and provide application oversight to business analysts and teams integrating with Master Person Index.
Responsibilities- Write high-level functional requirement documents.
- Work in Linux operating systems.
- Develop scripts using PowerShell.
- Work with Git and GitHub repositories.
- Work closely with Database Administrators to develop and execute SQL scripts.
- Create monthly reports for MDM applications.
- Work with business users on task and ticket resolution for MPI and MIDSP.
- Create and deploy certificates on Windows and Linux systems.
- Work closely with infrastructure teams, including Linux, Windows, and Network teams, for maintenance and issue resolution.
- Execute the full Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC).
- Gather requirements and write functional and technical specifications for complex projects.
- Develop prototypes and mockups for user review and approval.
- Create flowcharts, screen layouts, and documentation to ensure logical system requirements.
- Assist with Enterprise Architecture Solution Assessment (EASA), hosting documentation, and firewall rules.
- Design, develop, and implement test plans and test reports for applications or subsystems.
- Create or collect test data and execute approved tests to validate program logic and expected results.
- Assist with UAT testing, test cases, and post-implementation testing.
- Provide defect and incident tracking information.
- Assist with Request for Change (RFC) implementation, including application and infrastructure changes.
- Maintain and update system documentation following system upgrades.
- Monitor applications across production and non-production environments.
- Provide application support for business applications maintained by the organization.
- Deliver products and services based on software development principles.
- 8+ years of software development experience supporting enterprise-scale systems.
- Strong hands-on experience with IBM InfoSphere MDM v14.x Standard Edition (Virtual MDM).
- Experience with MDM data models, entities, transactions, batch processing, configuration, customization, and troubleshooting.
- Hands-on experience with Apache Kafka.
- Strong understanding of MDM concepts and IBM MDM product capabilities.
- Ability to maintain and enhance an existing MDM Standard Edition implementation.
- 8+ years of Java/J2EE experience, including Java, JSP, and REST/SOAP-based services.
- Strong production troubleshooting experience.
- 5+ years of experience with Linux/Unix operating systems, including command-line usage, log analysis, and system-level troubleshooting.
- Hands-on experience with Apache Kafka, including:
- Topic creation and configuration
- Producer and consumer development
- Message-flow troubleshooting
- Zookeeper and Kafka KRaft concepts
- Strimzi Operator
- Experience with batch processing using WildFly and Kafka.
- Experience with application servers such as WildFly, including deployments, startup, configuration, health checks, and runtime issue resolution.
- Experience integrating Kafka with WildFly-based applications and IBM MDM Standard Edition.
- Proficiency in writing and optimizing SQL queries in Oracle and Microsoft SQL Server environments.
- Strong Linux/Unix shell scripting skills using Bash.
- Experience creating, scheduling, and maintaining CRON jobs.
- Experience with Flowable is a strong plus.
- Experience with CI/CD pipelines using Azure DevOps, Azure Git repositories, or similar tools.
- Experience deploying and supporting applications in cloud and OCP/containerized environments.
- Familiarity with AWS and/or Azure.
- Exposure to OpenShift and Kubernetes is a strong plus.
- Experience with ELK / Elastic Stack for log monitoring and troubleshooting, including correlating logs across Kafka, WildFly, and MDM.
- Experience working with data and supporting mission-critical production systems.
- Ability to independently own, maintain, and support complex systems with minimal external dependency.
