As a Senior Data Engineer IBMi, you will have following key accountabilities:

Scaling our existing data processes, focusing on quality every step of the way

Monitor, maintain and scale our IBMi hardware tech stack, in close cooperation with our external partner companies

Provide guidance on technology, library and tooling choices to the team

Avoid scope-creep, over-engineering, under-testing and technical debt

Learning our business domains

Using good software engineering principles and best practices to solve business problems

Intra-team and Cross-team collaboration with Product Managers, Data Scientists, Data Engineers, Software Engineers and Site Reliability Engineers

Mentoring of (Junior) Data Engineers

Experience:

7+ years in developing backend services on IBMi platforms

7+ years in RPGLE software development with RDI

Cross-team collaboration in large organisations and Agile Methodology experience

Skills:

Essential:

Free RPGLE with embedded SQL

CL (CLP, CLLE) programming

SQL Advanced, including stored procedures and procedural SQL for IBMi DB2

JavaScript

Data Modelling

Strong communication skills

VS Code

Highly Useful:

Knowledge of FTP automation on IBMi

Good knowledge of IFS and NFS on IBMi

Query TuningOptimisation

Git, Jira, Confluence

Data Warehousing best practices
