Project Overview
A global technology consulting company is seeking an experienced Cyber Security Consultant to support a range of enterprise security transformation initiatives. This is an initial 3-6 month contract with a strong likelihood of extension based on project demand and performance.
Working as part of a collaborative consulting team, you will design and implement modern security architectures with a particular focus on Zero Trust principles within Microsoft Azure environments. You will engage directly with enterprise clients, providing technical expertise, security advisory services and hands-on implementation across cloud security, identity, and access management initiatives.
This opportunity is ideal for an experienced consultant who enjoys solving complex security challenges, working across multiple client environments and delivering tangible business outcomes.
Key ActivitiesZero Trust Architecture: Design, implement and enhance Zero Trust security frameworks aligned with Microsoft and industry best practices.
Azure Security: Configure and deploy Microsoft Azure security services, including identity, access management and cloud security controls.
Security Assessments: Conduct security posture reviews, identify risks and develop remediation strategies and security roadmaps.
Client Consulting: Partner with enterprise stakeholders to understand business requirements and provide trusted cyber security advice and technical recommendations.
Solution Delivery: Collaborate with cloud, infrastructure and application teams to embed security into enterprise technology solutions.
Documentation & Governance: Produce technical documentation, implementation plans and security architecture artefacts while ensuring alignment with organisational security standards.
Your BackgroundEssential
- Minimum 6 years' experience in Cyber Security, Security Consulting or Security Engineering.
- Demonstrated experience implementing Zero Trust security frameworks.
- Strong hands-on experience with Microsoft Azure Security services.
- Microsoft Azure certification (AZ-500 or equivalent).
- Experience with Microsoft Entra ID, Identity & Access Management (IAM), Conditional Access and Privileged Access Management.
- Excellent stakeholder engagement and communication skills with prior consulting experience.
- Ability to work independently while collaborating across technical and business teams.
Desirable
- Experience with Microsoft Defender and Microsoft Sentinel.
- Security certifications such as CISSP, SC-100, SC-200 or equivalent.
- Experience delivering enterprise cloud transformation or cyber security modernisation programmes.
- Previous experience working within a consulting or professional services environment.
- Familiarity with Australian security frameworks and compliance standards.
