Job Description

·         5+ years of experience in Systems Engineering, SRE, or DevOps, with 4+ years managing Kafka in production environments.

·         Strong expertise in Confluent Platform, Kafka cluster operations, upgrades, migrations, and hardware refresh activities.

·         Hands-on experience with Kafka Connect, Schema Registry, MirrorMaker/Confluent Replicator, REST Proxy, and AWS MSK.

·         Experience with Kafka performance tuning, capacity planning, partition strategy, monitoring, and disaster recovery.

·         Strong background in automation, incident management, production troubleshooting, and operational support.

·         Ability to create clear documentation, runbooks, and operational best practices.

Must have skills:

·         Strong knowledge of Kafka internals: partitions, replication, retention, compaction, and rebalance strategies.

·         Hands-on experience with Kafka Connect, Schema Registry, MirrorMaker, and Confluent Replicator.

·         Strong Linux fundamentals, networking (TCP/DNS/load balancing), and performance troubleshooting skills.

·         Proficiency in automation and scripting.

·         Experience with monitoring tools: Datadog, Grafana, JMX exporters, and log aggregation.

·         Expertise in DR, multi-region Kafka architecture, and incident management.

·         Ability to create technical documentation and operational guides.
