Job Description
Job Summary (List Format): Technology Operations Coordinator (City of Phoenix, Water Services Department – Technology Services Division)
- Serve as a central liaison between business units, technical teams, vendors, and leadership to ensure clear communication and alignment on business and technical objectives.
- Coordinate, track, and prioritize tasks across interdisciplinary teams, ensuring timely completion of assignments and action items.
- Gather business needs, translate them into actionable technical requirements, and prepare business cases, requirements documentation, user stories, workflows, and executive summaries.
- Support the governance, audit, and compliance activities by assisting with documentation review and ensuring adherence to IT policies.
- Provide operational support for mission-critical applications (e.g., WAM, CC&B) and assist with technology lifecycle and hardware management (intake, tagging, imaging, inventory, deployment).
- Manage administrative and operational processes, including scheduling meetings, tracking purchase orders, payment requests, and procurement documentation.
- Maintain organized documentation, support records management, update SharePoint content, and coordinate division-wide logistics.
- Perform SAP/SRM budget reviews, shopping cart creation, purchase tracking, and assist with contract coordination and vendor documentation.
- Ensure high standards of punctuality, reliability, organization, communication, and attention to detail in a fully onsite (no telework) environment.
- Collaborate with leadership, budget teams, and technical staff to ensure accurate fiscal management and policy compliance.
- Support inventory processes, policy development, and operational support across governance, applications, and hardware teams as needed.
- Work proactively to solve problems, anticipate team needs, and deliver high-quality technology services in a fast-paced municipal environment.
Required Skills
- Strong background in business analysis, technology operations, or administrative support (preferably in municipal/utility settings)
- Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills
- Proven ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
- Attention to detail, strong follow-up, and organizational skills
- Experience working with technical teams and translating business needs
Preferred Skills
- Experience with SAP/SRM, enterprise applications (WAM, CC&B, GIS, billing systems)
- Familiarity with utility or municipal operations, IT governance, and procurement workflows
- Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work independently
- Ability to build collaborative relationships across diverse teams
Work Environment
- Fully onsite at 200 W. Washington St., Phoenix, AZ (no remote work)
- Monday to Friday, 8 AM to 5 PM (40 hours/week)
- Must be local and available for in-person interviews and quick start after offer
