Job Description

The Hardware Engineer Level 2 provides technical expertise across hardware planning, installation, sustainment, and lifecycle support. The role manages hardware tasking through JIRA, ServiceNow (SNOW), and NLYTE while performing engineering reviews, site surveys, installation coordination, and break/fix maintenance across multiple operational locations. Key Responsibilities Ticketing, Tracking & Coordination
• Manage hardware-related JIRA, ServiceNow (SNOW), and NLYTE tickets; maintain accurate status and provide regular customer updates.
• Review deployment packages submitted by customers, resolving inconsistencies and ensuring technical accuracy.
• Prepare documentation required for equipment shipment and staging approvals (e.g., MDATs, TOEs). Hardware Planning & Engineering Support
• Plan hardware project phases including scheduling, budgeting, integration timelines, and technical performance maturation.
• Support systems engineering teams by developing, validating, and updating hardware drawing packages and configuration documentation.
• Prepare specifications, functional requirements, and technical design packages for hardware acquisitions and site installations. Installation & Sustainment
• Organize and lead hardware installations at CONUS and OCONUS sites.
• Conduct site surveys, assess site unique requirements, and prepare engineering plans and as built documentation.
• Configure computers, networking devices, communications hardware, and peripheral equipment.
• Perform break/fix support, preventive maintenance, sustainment, and replacement of failed hardware.
• Troubleshoot issues on-site and coordinate with multiple organizations while on TDY assignments. Testing & Analysis
• Conduct hardware acceptance testing and prepare installation and test reports.
• Support development of installation guides, field test procedures, and troubleshooting documentation.
• Analyze hardware throughput, failure modes, and operational data to identify choke points and recommend improvements. Qualifications • Active TS/SCI with Full Scope Polygraph — No exceptions; no sponsorship.
• 14 years of hardware engineering experience analyzing complex hardware systems in support of SIGINT or similar technical missions.
• Bachelor’s degree in Communications Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Information Systems, Mathematics, or related technical discipline
– Additional 5 years hardware engineering experience may substitute for degree.
• Experience with hardware installation, configuration, sustainment, and multi site integration.
• Proficiency using JIRA, ServiceNow (SNOW), and NLYTE for workflow and asset management.
• Ability to prepare engineering plans, technical design packages, installation documentation, and site configuration reports.
• Strong troubleshooting skills across servers, network devices, storage equipment, processors, and peripheral systems.
• Ability to travel for TDY assignments as required.
